Percy Jackson and the Olympian Book 5 - The Last Olympian Synopsis

The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan.

This is the last book of this momentous series and all that I can say is that it was worth the wait. It all unfolds in the final installment of this thrilling series. The book starts with our very own Seaweed Brain, Percy Jackson, having a good day hanging out with his friend Rachel. Except, like every good day, it’s interrupted by yet another life or death experience. Blackjack lands on the hood of Paul’s car (yeah he’s not going to be happy about that…) and the rider is none other than Charles Beckendorf with a bag of explosives on his shoulder. They all have parts to play in this war and Percy Jackson and the ones closest to him bear the most. Speaking of the ones closest to him, Grover has disappeared and hasn’t been seen for a while. However, that’s not even half of all their troubles. All year the demigods have been training for the battle against Kronos and his army, knowing that the odds of victory are grim. As old monsters are resurfacing, and some of the minor gods join Kronos for the Second Titan War, the demigods are losing hope. While the gods are struggling to contain the raging monster Typhon, Kronos turns his attention to New York City, the home of Mount Olympus. With the gods distracted it’s up to the demigods to protect the city that they love.

‘Last but not least is the Last Olympian. This book is filled with heartbreak and promises for a better future. In this book every person is invaluable and they all contribute to twists and turns in the plot. It conjures up a bunch of feelings both good and bad, and when it comes to the final showdown, every weapon counts even if it’s an unlikely one like a hairbrush. With betrayals and last-minute changes, a bracelet gave everything away a few minutes late. At least, we don’t have to say goodbye to our hero Percy Jackson. Rick Riordan wrote a spin-off series called the Heroes of Olympus and we meet new characters but keep the old ones. The band of characters in this series will make us feel like we’ve never left. This series was amazing and I’m excited to see how our characters grow and become better. Comment below which is your favorite book out of the Percy Jackson and Olympians series.
