Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book 2 - The Sea of Monsters Synopsis

The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

After dealing with a summer of trying to prevent a chaotic war between 3 gods, Percy finds that his seventh - grade school year to be alarmingly calm. His new problem is protecting his six - foot three inches, mentally challenged, new friend, who seems to follow him everywhere. That creates a problem with Percy not being able to make normal friends and try to have a normal life. As normal as it could ever be for a demigod. Especially a son of Poseidon, one of the big three. Enter another problem: Thalia’s tree is poisoned and all the demigods are in danger. To bring the tree back to its peak health and strengthen the border, the trio are tasked with the job of finding the famous Golden Fleece. Chiron believes that this Golden Fleece can heal the Thalia’s tree and protect the demigods.

‘Honestly, I think this book is even better than the first due to the fact that we get to know Grover, Annabeth, and Percy more. We also get to meet our lovable Cyclops, Tyson. I think that Rick Riordan puts more action and surprise in this book than the first so if you are an action lover like me, then you will love this book. If you haven’t read the first book and you are reading this… STOP.
